Jerry Neal Metcalf, Sr. Obituary (1950 - 2022)

METCALF, Sr., Jerry Neal -age 72 of Dayton, OH passed away early Saturday morning November 12, 2022 at Maria Joseph Nursing Facility, after a difficult battle with dementia. He leaves behind his oldest daughter, Junebugg Metcalf and his three sons Jerry Neal Metcalf, Danny Ray Metcalf, and Cody Jack Williams, three grandchildren, granddaughter Dariona Lynne-Marie Metcalf, and two grandsons, Daniel and Davion Neal Metcalf, and two daughter in laws, Jess Marcum-Metcalf and Skylan Metcalf and two brothers Bill and Danny Metcalf and one sister JoAnn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was born Monday, September 11, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio to Foley & Thelma (nee Robinson) Metcalf. He was the baby boy of three sisters and two brothers. After high school, Jerry was called to proudly and honorably serve his country in the Marine Corps. After returning home he began a lifelong career in the tattoo industry and was a tattooist for over 40 years! He was also an incredibly talented woodcarver. Although Jerry was married twice, he was first widowed by Sherry Lee Williams when she passed away June 25, 2011. Later, he married Hyon Suk Choe. If you knew Jerry, you knew that he loved beautiful women. He was so hilarious and loved to have fun. He alway had a smile on his face. Jerry was a well liked and respected (some say even legendary) businessman of East Dayton. Although he was well known for his tattoos and general "craziness"; his family was his heart. He was a good man and caring father. He was also man of God. Jerry's most cherished Bible verse was John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." He will never be forgotten. The family would like to extend their appreciation to everyone able to attend Jerry's Memorial Service. Thank you to the Hospice workers and everyone at Maria Joseph Nursing Facility for their constant & compassionate care.
