Preston Ward Fisher Obituary (1951 - 2023)

FISHER, Preston Ward -age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023 in Dayton, Ohio. He was born on November 3, 1951 in Los Angeles, California to Robert and Marva (nee Sutcliffe) Fisher. Preston spent his early childhood in Southern California and enjoyed family trips to the beach, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, and going to the movies. When he was 11 years old, the family moved to Utah to be closer to their beloved grandparents. Preston was very close to them and loved being able to see them frequently. After graduating from school, Preston spent several years working in nursing homes and helping the elderly and disabled. He was very proud of the care he provided. He also had a great sense of humor and hoped he brought a little joy into the lives of those with whom he worked. In 1985, Preston married Cathy Ann Godleske and they were the parents of a beautiful daughter, Khrisandra. They later divorced and Preston eventually moved to Dayton, Ohio. Preston was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and thoroughly enjoyed his association with members who visited and assisted with his care as his health declined. Preston is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Khrisandra Groven and Robert Groven, Sr., and their children Le'Angel, Kashlyn, Braxton, and Robert Jr.; his siblings: Kent, Jenny, Monica, Kathy, Mark and Roberta; and, numerous nieces and nephews. Our family offers its most sincere thanks to the many wonderful people who have assisted Preston over the years as his health has progressively declined, and who have cared for Preston around-the-clock during his final weeks in the hospital and in hospice.
